2010 Dragon Raid

Postby BritRider » Thu Dec 24, 2009 10:52 am

The 2010 Dragon Raid is set for September 13-19th. Just as last year it will be held at the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge, 1755 Lower Stecoah Road Stecoah, NC www.ironhorsenc.com

I have this week reserved for all Triumph enthusiasts. You don't have to be riding a Triumph. It is open to everyone. Please go ahead and contact Iron Horse to arrange your accommodations. This year there will be a pre-registration encouraged. As soon as I get a few more things ironed out, I will have the forms available for download. There will be a fee. I will keep it as minimal as possible. I will be updating this post in the near future.

No way for me to be certain, but I plan to be there. Not sure how many days. I'll be camping.

Do most of you guys trailer your bikes down or ride?

It's only 330 miles or so from SW Butler County. I usually ride down two or three times a year. I'm contemplating riding the scooter down in the Spring, but I hope to at least make this trip (the Dragon Raid I mean). I've not decided which Triumph yet though.

I rode last year but a large percentage of the group trailered down. If you want to ride down I'm sure you could probably tag along with other riders or if you prefer to trailer you may be able to hitch a ride with someone. The important thing is that you attend. Last year was a blast and this year looks to be even better.

Now now - There are many practical reasons to trailer down...

Having the smaller sport bike to ride instead of larger cruiser to travel on and carry anything, PLUS...

I could never get all that beer I bring on any bike! :wnk:

Scott,
The earlier you make a reservation, the more options you have. I will eventually have a pre registration form to fill out and send to me. There will be a fee, but it will be as small as possible. It will make things easier and better this year. Things are looking real good for September.

Looking forward to it. Anyone organizing a cabin? (I'm not up to doing it this year)
